|1. What is hydrogen-rich water? Isn’t all water 2/3rds hydrogen? Answer: Hydrogen rich water is regular water that has been saturated with molecular hydrogen, or hydrogen gas (H2). Water, or H2O, is a chemical compound consisting of 2 hydrogen atoms (H) bonded with an oxygen atom (O). Hydrogen-rich water is a solution of H2 (molecular hydrogen) gas, that is simply dissolved in to H2O (water). Think of ‘carbonating’ water, used in sparkling waters and soda pops, but instead of using CO2 (carbon dioxide) gas, using H2 (molecular hydrogen) gas.|
|2. Why should I drink water saturated in hydrogen gas, or hydrogen-rich water? Answer: Although research is in its early stages, with the seminal article being published in Nature Medicine in 2007, so far over 600 studies have been published indicating improvements in over 170 different disease models across every organ in the body. While more research is needed, studies have suggested that hydrogen-rich water is an effective tool in reducing oxidative stress, amongst many other potential benefits. |3. How much H2 should I consume daily? Answer: There is limited evidence to suggest the best dosing protocols of molecular hydrogen, but we have found that a minimum of 1-2 tablets per day is required, with some using 5-6. Many people find greatest effect by consuming 4 tablets, or 4 bottles of water per day for the first 30 days, and then if you choose, reduce the dosage to 2 per day.|
|4. What type of water is best to use to prepare my tablets Answer: While any type of water will work, with no difference between filtered, distilled, or tap, we recommend you do not use high pH water from an ionizer or other method. The reaction to create H2 relies on delicate chemistry, and using high pH water, such as '9.5' pH water from an ionizer, will reduce the amount of hydrogen created. For best results use water as close to 7 pH as possible.|
|5. Why have I been advised to overfill my bottle to achieve the ‘bubble’ or ‘convex meniscus’ in a plastic soda/pop container, but told to leave slight head space in metal or glass rigid containers? Answer: Soda/pop bottles have a bit of 'flex' and expand with the reaction as they were designed for holding in carbonation, so when using them you want to limit head space to none, and achieve the convex meniscus. With glass bottles or metal containers, the flex is negligible to none, meaning there is no where for the pressure build up to go. This can lead to either broken bottles, or the tablet not fully dissolving(the pressure build up stops the tablet from dissolving). If using a rigid container, allow for a very small amount of headspace. For instance, with a 500ml glass 'swing top beer bottle', roughly 1/4" of head space is sufficient.|
|6. What type of bottle is best? Answer: Many find it easiest to drop the tablet in an open glass. The speed of reaction and volume of hydrogen created fully saturates the water in minutes, and leaves an extra cloud of gas for a very short period. If you use this method you will want to drink the water as quick as possible. This is by far the easiest way to prepare, and the most common. We provide a bottle which works well, leave slight head space with it. Alternatively, any bottle with a tight seal will work. Make sure if you use a sealed bottle, to disturb/shake the bottle slightly during the first 3-4 minutes the tablet is reacting to give a smooth and clean dissolve.|
7. Can I wait longer than 20 minutes when preparing my Rejuvenation H2 water?
Answer: Yes, absolutely. In fact, the longer you wait the higher the total amount of H2 in your water!(up to around 12 hours we have found depending on the container)
Just make sure to drink your water relatively quickly after opening. Even if you don’t want to wait longer than 20 minutes, the reaction will finish in the stomach affording you with the rest of the H2 benefits.
|8. My bottle says wait 15-20 minutes. Can I drink it sooner? Answer: Yes. The tablets are typically dissolved within 3-4 minutes of adding them to water. If you are in a rush, feel free to drink after 5 minutes, you will still be receiving adequate levels of H2. If using an open glass rather than a sealed container, it is OPTIMAL to drink it sooner, literally the second the tablet finishes dissolving!|
|9. Should I add anything else to my water? Answer: We recommend adding a fruit juice to your water, either a citrus fruit or apple juice. It speeds up the reaction and allows for higher levels of H2.|
|10. What if there is residue or undissolved chunks left? Answer: First off, make sure to shake your bottle once or twice in the first 3-5 minutes of the reaction, and again before opening, which will solve this. This is just undissolved magnesium, and it is perfectly safe to ingest- in fact, it will just react in your stomach to create even more H2, so drink up! Sometimes the delicate chemistry of our tablets and the water leaves some remnants of the magnesium, especially if the water you used was extra cold.|
|11. Is this product natural? Answer: Yes: Being a reaction between the element magnesium, and water- to create H2, or molecular hydrogen, a molecule comprised of 2 hydrogen atoms, which is the Universe’s oldest atom, not much could qualify as more natural!|
12. Are there any side effects from H2?
Answer: In over 600 published articles no side effects have been observed. Hydrogen is used to prevent decompression sickness at thousands of times higher concentrations.
Note that these tablets do contain magnesium- so exceeding the RDA of Magnesium can have associated risks (i.e diarrhea). We suggest limiting to no more than 6 tablets daily. In certain people with diabetes H2 may exert a hypoglycemic effect, which can be normalized by patients lowering their insulin injection levels. So it is important to monitor glucose and insulin for diabetics.
|13. I noticed the product contains lactose, I’m lactose intolerant. Should I be concerned? Answer: The short answer is no. The longer explanation is this: Lactose is present in the tablet as a binding agent, in a minuscule amount. To give context, even those with severe lactose intolerance would need to ingest 80, yes EIGHTY, tablets in one sitting to experience MILD discomfort. Those with allergies to lactose would need to consume roughly 40 in one sitting to have any adverse affects. That being said, as previously answered in the FAQ regarding dosing, consuming that many tablets could cause serious issues due to magnesium poisoning, which is true of any supplement containing magnesium. Be reassured, drink away, the lactose in the tablet will not cause any discomfort.|
|14. Is this the same as consuming hydrogen peroxide? Answer: While popular in some circles for claimed therapeutic benefits for specific ailments, food grade hydrogen peroxide [H2O2] is in no way similar to dissolved molecular hydrogen [H2] other than they both contain the word ‘hydrogen’. Hydrogen peroxide is a strong oxidizer and is used as a bleaching agent and disinfectant. Molecular hydrogen [H2] is a reducing agent/anti-oxidant.|
|15. Is the tablet, or water explosive or flammable? Answer: No. The levels of magnesium in the Rejuvenation tablet are too low to be flammable, as is the level of hydrogen in the water created. Hydrogen has to exceed 4% of the atmospheric pressure to be explosive.|
16. Why Rejuvenation tablets over ionized alkaline water, hydrogen sticks, or other water soluble or ingestible tablets?
Answer: Rejuvenation is by far the most powerful hydrogen creator on the market. Capable of producing enough H2 to saturate 500ml of water with 13 PPM*(parts per million) of H2, this far exceeds what any of the other methods can achieve. By contrast, both ionizers and hydrogen sticks typically produce between 0.1-0.5 PPM of H2, while degrading in performance over time. Ingestible tablets give off a constant H2 level, which has shown to be ineffective in some disease models(such as Parkinson’s), and the competing tablets produce only a fraction of the total H2 as Rejuvenation on account of lower active ingredients and an inefficient design. Many of the best human studies have relied on labs creating H2 water in excess of 4-6 PPM, so Rejuvenation is the only reliable choice!
