September 6, 2022VegFizz Hydrogen Scam
When I first saw the VegFizz hydrogen tablet hit amazon, noting the ingredient make up is identical to the standard hydrogen tablets I mass produce, my first thought was: “Are they violating my patent? I better email them in case they are unaware.” So I did, to no response. Then I thought “perhaps this is another any old magnesium stupidity”. So I bought the tablets, and tested them, and that is exactly what it is.
The tablets are small in diameter and white, and they do not dissolve in water. They also do not make any hydrogen. See for yourself:
What claims does this brand make? For starters, they repeatedly refer to it as a “Japanese Premium Antioxidant Formula”, in which the formulation they were attempting to copy is not from Japan, and molecular hydrogen is not an antioxidant.
They try to appeal to authoritative websites and make claims such as “anti-inflammatory”, which is an illegal drug claim, and inaccurate; molecular hydrogen regulates inflammation towards a more homeostatic response, sometimes even raising inflammation when needed. The website designer clearly has English as a second language, as noted by this copy:
They also make some hilarious claims, such as:
-Their tablets dissolve more rapidly than other hydrogen tablets, despite their tablets not dissolving at all.
-Adding a coating to protect shelf life for longer stability as compared to other hydrogen tablets. First, adding a coating will prevent the tablet from dissolving in water rapidly. Second, the shelf life for the hydrogen tablets I produce is 3 years, due to stability data we have obtained, and VegFizz is only claiming 2 years of stability.
Clearly these brands trying to enter the market have not even conducted minimal market research or R&D. It’s just a bunch of opportunist charlatans trying to make a quick buck, entering a complicated industry they know nothing about.
